Russel Watson in Manila

Must watch concert- Russel Watson. One of the top male singer-performers blessed with a powerful and angelic voice, Russell Watson, is coming to Manila.

From being a pub singer, he rose to international prominence as a classical singer in the mold of Andrea Bocelli and Mario Frangoulis. His debut album, “The Voice,” sold millions, opening up avenues for him to perform for European royalty like Prince Charles, heads of state, A-list celebrities and even the Pope.

His latest album “Amore Musica” is causing a stir in the charts with songs penned by Oscar-winning Diane Warren and Gary Barlow. What is amazing about his repertoire is that Watson is as comfortable singing opera as well as standards (from “Nessun Dorma” to “Bridge Over Troubled Water”).

The concert will be at the PICC Plenary Hall on Feb. 10. A portion of the proceeds will go to the victims of Infanta, Quezon landslides and floods and the Asian tsunami disaster. Watson, in fact, has recorded a charity single along with Cliff Richard and Boy George, titled “Grief Never Grows Old,” making him the first entertainer to come to Manila who is lending his time and talent to help out the victims.

This is a definite must-see concert. Call TicketWorld at 8915610.
